“We help city mayors to fight smog, we help residents to move more safely and drivers to travel around the city in a more efficient manner. In cooperation with local governments, we develop a whole ecosystem, combining solutions and services created by various companies, in order to bring about the opportunities for faster development of Smart Cities. The award I received today would not be possible without the hard work of the entire Emitel team. I treat it as a prologue to something more extensive, something that we intend to develop in the field of solutions for Smart Cities. I also promise that we will continue to maintain our focus on reliability and innovation. As Winston Churchill said, ‘Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference’,” summed up Andrzej Kozłowski, President of the Management Board of Emitel.

Emitel is a pioneer in the implementation of solutions for the Internet of Things and Smart Cities in Poland as one of the first companies to start implementing innovative projects in cooperation with local governments. What is more, Emitel develops an entire ecosystem, combining solutions and services of various companies, creating an opportunity for faster development of a new business segment, thus responding to the opportunities brought about by the Innovative Economy 4.0. The transmission network built by the company to meet the needs of IoT/SmartCity is based on the Long Range Radio technology, which allows the implementation of IoT solutions before the 5G network is established in Poland. As part of the network made available by Emitel, local governments are able to implement first solutions, aimed at improving the standard of living of residents, such as those aimed at curbing the issue of environmental pollution. Projects implemented by Emitel are open to all entities interested in cooperation, development and sales of their own services based on transmission in the network based on the Long Range Radio system. Emitel has been implementing pilot projects in several Polish cities, most recently the company has established cooperation with the local government of Wrocław.

“In order to create solutions for Smart Cities, it is necessary to ensure communication systems that combine sensors and monitoring devices with systems collecting data in order to analyse them and respond to incidents. This is where companies, such as Emitel, can shine, since they are able to provide appropriate solutions. Our company aspires to be one of the leaders in the development of solutions for Smart Cities,” said the winner, Andrzej Kozłowski, President of the Management Board of Emitel.
